Trout were released by Van Holten students in local stream

The trout were released.

That was the final task for the LLD students at the Van Holten Primary School.

According to Van Holten Principal George Rauh, throughout the school year students in the LLD classroom learned about the life cycle of a rainbow trout and the need for clean water.

Students raised the trout from eggs provided by the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife in October to their current fingerling size at release.

These small trout were released into a local Bridgewater stream on Tuesday, May 16.
