Dear Van Holten Families,
We are only a few weeks away from starting the 2025-2026 school year. I hope your family has enjoyed the summer months and is ready to begin another school year that offers many opportunities to explore, learn, and create life-long connections with others. I am pleased to welcome your family to a new school year, which will begin on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The first day of school is a full day, and lunch will be served. Van Holten School’s start and end time for a regular school day remains the same (8:55 AM – 3:15 PM). Kindergarten and Pre-K school times are 8:55-11:35 in the morning and 12:35-3:15 in the afternoon.
On Friday afternoon, August 22, 2025, families can learn their child(ren)’s class placement for the school year by accessing PowerSchool. All families should know how to access PowerSchool at this point. If you do not know how to access PowerSchool, use the information in the link below, or are having difficulties, please contact our main office staff at the numbers below. All other important information about the start of the school year will be sent to families during the coming weeks.
Some highlights for this school year or other important information include the following:
· Pre-K program at Van Holten School
· New PreK/Kindergarten playground
· Renovations to three classrooms in preparation for full-day kindergarten in September 2026
· New HVAC system and shelving in the A, B, and C wing classrooms
· New breakfast program
· New class furniture for two classrooms
· New smartboards in two classrooms
· Replaced an original heating boiler
· Back to School Nights are on September 24th for grades PreK-2 and September 25th for grades 3-4. Times for both programs are 6:30-8:00 PM.

Please review this link from our Technology Department that has essential information related to the required forms families need to complete for their child(ren), Powerschool Parent Portal/App, MySchoolBucks, and accessing student placement/bus passes.
Unfortunately, Van Holten School will not have an Open House before the start of the school year. The construction project has been an enormous undertaking. Our custodial team and teachers need time to prepare the building and classrooms for the start of school. I appreciate your understanding and hope to resume in future years.
Our faculty, staff, and I are eager to welcome students back and begin the journey ahead. We look forward to helping each child learn and grow so they can positively impact the world in the years ahead!
