Dear Van Holten Families,
I hope your family has found the summer months to be fun and memorable. The start of the 2026-2027 school year is only a few weeks away, with the first day of school on Tuesday, September 8th. As a new era for Van Holten School begins as a Pre-K-3 school, we look forward to creating memorable experiences with your family this year and in the years to come. The first day of school is a full day, and lunch will be served. Van Holten School’s start and end times for a regular school day are 9:20 AM – 3:40 PM for grades K-3. Pre-K school times are 9:20 - 12:00 in the morning and 1:00 - 3:40 in the afternoon. However, doors for arrival will open at 8:50 AM for students to enter the building.
Some highlights for this school year or other important information include the following:
Full-day kindergarten program
Renovated student and faculty hallway bathrooms
Electrical upgrades to the building
HVAC system renovations will be completed by the start of school, providing climate control to all classrooms in the A, B, and C wings.
New kindergarten class furniture for three classrooms
New or relocated smartboards in two classrooms
Back-to-School Nights are on September 16th for grades Pre-K-1 and September 17th for grades 2-3. Times for both programs are 6:30-8:00 PM.
On Friday afternoon, August 28, 2026, at 4:00 PM, families can learn their child(ren)’s class placement for the school year by accessing PowerSchool. All families should know how to access PowerSchool by now. If you do not know how to access PowerSchool, use the information below, or are having difficulties, please contact our main office staff at the numbers provided. All other important information about the start of the school year will be sent to families during the coming weeks.

The district code for the mobile app is TDCT.
Forms can be accessed on the Parent Portal website by clicking Forms in the left-side menu, or in the app by selecting More, then Forms.
Back-to-school forms need to be completed in the Parent Portal. They can be completed on the Parent Portal website by clicking Forms in the left-side menu, or in the Parent Portal app by selecting More, then Forms. All forms in the 26-27 Back to School Forms (REQUIRED) must be completed each year. Van Holten School will have an “Open House” before the start of the school year on September 4th. Students and their families will be able to find their classrooms, tour the building, and determine which entrance to use upon arrival. Times for the “Open House” are 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM for Pre-K-1 and 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM for grades 2-3. Maps will be available when you enter the building.
