Earth Day at avile assembly

On a beautiful but a bit cool spring day, the treasures of our earth were shared by music at the Adamsville Primary School.

Earth Day is officially recognized on April 22, demonstrating nationwide support for environmental protection, but the day before, on Tuesday, April 21, Earth Day was celebrated by energized students and staff during morning assemblies at Adasmville.

The assemblies in the school’s multi-purpose room featured a Bridgerwater resident, Doug Jay, whose son, Mason, is in 1st Grade at Adamsville.

Mr. Jay’s daytime job is serving as a Science Teacher at Livingston High School, but he has launched a secondary, passionate side job promoting Earth Day to the community.

He said that his “pilot program” was his appearance before the students and staff at Adamsville.

That gave him the opportunity to play earth-related songs and interact with his clients in the audience.

“I have been writing songs since high school and now I write songs for my science class.” Mr. Jay revealed. “Now I can spread the message.”

His message was loud and clear.

“Earth Day is every day,” he claimed.

Among the attentive audience was Dan Richter, Adamsville’s dedicated Technology Teacher and Science Coordinator.

“The Earth Day assembly at Adamsville School was a lively celebration of our planet, filled with engaging sing-alongs, creative skits, and lessons about protecting the environment,” Mr. Richter said. “Students learned how caring for nature, wildlife, and natural resources can make every day feel like Earth Day.”

Mr. Richter spoke more about what was a festive presentation.

“The performance, led by our Adamsville parent, Mr. Doug Jay, inspired everyone to think about their role in preserving the Earth. It was a fun and memorable reminder that small actions can make a big difference for our planet and its animals.”

Mr. Jay conveyed this recommendation.

“Get outside and form positive relationships with the outside world.”
