Five Bridgewater-Raritan High School student musicians have earned prestigious honors.
These five gifted students were accepted into the All-Eastern Band and Orchestra.
Julian DiMaggio (Percussion), Grade 12
James Krempasky (Euphonium), Grade 11
Fisayo Ogunsulire (Trumpet), Grade 11
Ananth Raman (Trumpet), Grade 11
David Yi (Cello), Grade 12
According to Lisa Rottondi, who is the Director of Choirs at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, the achievement of five students being accepted is “actually a huge number from one school.”
“These students represent some of the finest high school musicians across 11 northeastern states. The All-Eastern ensembles only take place every other year and only juniors and seniors in high school are eligible to be considered,’ Ms. Rotondi stated.
She also revealed the process.
“The highest scoring students from All-State ensembles are selected to participate, using a formula that also accounts for the state's population, allowing for a similar percentage of students to attend from each state.”
Ms. Rotondi added.
“They traveled to Connecticut from April 23-27 and worked with college professors from across the country before performing a concert at the historic Mortensen Hall at the Bushnell Performing Arts Center”.
