A total of 97 Bridgewater-Raritan High School students participated in the National Latin Exam — and 78 won awards, including three who received a perfect score.
According to Elizabeth Farshtey, a World Language Teacher and Advisor with Lucinda Jaffe for the Latin Honor Society at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, a total of 93,159 students took the test in March this year, from all 50 states and 26 other countries.
The Bridgewater-Raritan High School students who attained a perfect score were:
Meera Buddhikot
Harshit Kondle
Lucia Bolle.
“It is Lucia's third perfect score in a row. Only around one percent of students taking the exam earn a perfect score,” Ms. Farshtey revealed.
She also reported that “three seniors won book awards from the National Junior Classical League for having won gold medals four years in a row.”
Those students were:
Ronak Hunashimarad
Samuel Porter
Ethan Wei.
“Only 307 students internationally won this award.” Ms. Farshtey said.
