An assembly to prepare for the main attraction was held at the Van Holten Primary School on Tuesday, January 13.
Van Holten’s 3rd and 4th Grade students attended the assembly to prepare for the school’s highly acclaimed Invention Convention, which will be held on Thursday, March 19.
Meghan Kilpila, the school’s Library Media Specialist, and Teacher Kelly Kokotajlo coordinated the assembly.
Ms. Kipila explained the projects during the session.
“We hooked the audience with a performance by our art teacher, Mr. (Brian) Goteiner. He helped us stage a problem,” Ms. Kipila said. “He dramatically entered, tripped, and dropped a basket full of tennis balls. We then had to demonstrate how to quickly pick them up. In turn, we displayed the "ball hopper" invention.
She added:
“From there, we went over other examples of inventions and the specifics of the upcoming Invention Convention, which will take place on March 19, 2026. Information was eblasted to parents.”
